| SUN VALLEY SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009
Tentative dates for 2009 Summer Championships will be JULY 16 - 19 2009
Events will be offered in Basic Skills, Freestyle (including adult) Short Programs (Int & Up) Compulsory, Spins, Artistic, Showcase, Interpretive and Pairs.
The IJS System will be used in Juvenile and above events.
Official Practice Ice will begin on Wednesday the 15th ( TENTATIVELY)in the afternoon)
Travel and Lodging
Although applications for the event will not be available until April 1st we would like to provide you with the following information to help assist with your travel plans.
Scenic Sun Valley, Idaho is located 160 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho. It is a beautiful destination resort nestled in the Sawtooth Mountains. Reservations during the summer months (especially the competition weekend) should be made as soon as possible.
Airline Information
Both Horizon Airlines and Sky West Airlines offer service into Hailey, Idaho located 13 miles south of Sun Valley. Horizon offers non-stop daily flights from Seattle and Los Angeles. Sky West offers commuter service from Salt Lake City, UT. Southwest, United, Delta, Frontier and Alaska offer service to Boise, Idaho with car rental available to Sun Valley (App. 2 and ½ hr drive.)
Lodging Information:
Reservations for the Sun Valley Lodge, Inn and condominiums are available through the Sun Valley Central resort reservations at 800-786-8250.
The town of Ketchum, Idaho is located about 1 mile from the Sun Valley resort and offers a wide variety of hotels and condominiums. The KART bus service operates free bus service throughout the Sun Valley/ Ketchum area.
